Located in the Normandy Bocage, CALVADOS PREAUX guarantees traditions while offering the highest level of quality to our products, CALVADOS.
CALVADOS PREAUX is located in the heart of the Domfrontais appellation. Created in 1934, our products are the result of the know-how of several generations.
The typicity of our products is based on relevant blends of Calvados from the distillation of cider apples and perry pears, specific to the Domfrontais appellation area.
Our recently renovated production site offers all the guarantees of a perfectly mastered product during all stages of the production of our Calvados.
Aging carried out exclusively in more than 1400 oak barrels, in our cellars, allows Calvados to fully express its aromas, and ensure a product appreciated by the greatest connoisseurs around the world.
In addition to our own orchard, we source fruit locally from nearly 800 producers who maintain orchards mostly tall stems, with sweet, bittersweet and bitter varieties.
The mainly hand-picked fruit picking ensures high quality fruit.
After careful washing, the fruits will be crushed, then the juice will be extracted in the press. These juices will be stored in stainless steel vats where fermentation will take place, followed very regularly by our cellar master.
The best period for the distillation of ciders will then be determined with precision, (respecting the specifications of the Appellation), in order to preserve the best aromas and thus ensure the quality of the distilled product, CALVADOS.
These will be assembled to offer the highest level of quality to our customers.
Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
